The Pearl at Park Hill

The pair behind Sheffield restaurant and bar Bench have opened their second site within the city’s famous Park Hill housing development.

Jack Wakelin and chef Tom Aronica opened The Pearl at Park Hill in September 2023, bringing their interpretation of what a ‘local’ in the 21st Century should and can be.

The concept is to serve up a seasonal, ever-changing cocktail menu, craft beers and natural wine alongside bar food.

Park Hill, an institution and part of Sheffield’s skyline, was home to four pubs when it was built to provide modern housing for the workforce of the city's steelworks.

The Pearl is the first local to open on the estate since the closure of the four estate pubs: The Scottish Queen, The Link and The Parkway Tavern and The Earl George. The Pearl being an amalgamation of the latter two pubs. 

The couple launched their Nether Edge bar Bench in October 2020 and it has been listed in the Top 50 Cocktail Bars.
