An intimate, basement cocktail in the heart of Newcastle, Mother Mercy puts taste to the top of its cocktails and prides itself on having only the loveliest of staff in the business.
The venue itself is swanky and sophisticated, bedecked in luxurious furnishings and lit moodily to ensure the perfect cocktail drinking atmosphere.
Based on Cloth Lane in the heart of the city, the venue also serves a range of snacking food including dumplings and other Asian-inspired cuisine.
A range of beers and wines, all well sourced, are also available.
The cocktails, meanwhile, are displayed on a beautifully designed menu that not only showcases the name and ingredients, but also the serve style.
Notable serves have included the East 8 Hold Up, made wite Finlandia Vodka, Aperol, passion fruit, lime and fresh pineapple, with the option of an alcohol-free serve; the King Kong Old Fashioned, made with Four Roses Bourbon, Smith and Cross Rum, banana liqueur and bitters; and the Cinema Highball made with Kingston 62 Rum, Fentimans Cola, toffee popcorn and amaretto cherry.
Other notable serves include the Spicy Flamingo, made with Ocho Blanco Tequila, fresh watermelon, lime, agave and chilli salt; the Insanely Good Midori Sour with Tanqueray Gin, Midori, fresh lemon and fresh lime; and the Pool Float with Finlandia Vodka, fresh watermelon, strawberry syrup, rose, yuzu sake and lime.
The menu also hosts a range of much-loved classics including the Cosmopolitan, Espresso Martini and Amaretto Sour to name a few.
