Kiki Lounge describes itself as a bar created during the pandemic as a “tropical escape from nearly two years of closed borders.”
In October 2023 it relocated to a new site in Douglas’ North Quay, describing itself as “a tropical bar on a not-so-tropical island.”
Being inspired by the legacy of pioneering American tiki bars like Trader Vic’s and Don the Beachcomber, owners Jamie Lewis and Drew Fleming have worked tirelessly to create the ideal hideaway for locals and visitors.
And it has proved a roaring success with The Sunday Times Style magazine describing it as a “Tiki haven with a true focus on building community.”
Cocktails at the bar include tropical drinks such as the Japanese Slipper with Clement Rhum Blanc, mango, cantaloupe, yoghurt and lime along with the Suffering Bastard made with Beefeater gin, Martell VS Cognac, Velvet Falernum, smoked cinnamon, lime and Fever-Tree ginger beer.
For those wanting a snack with their cocktail the food menu offers an array of interesting options from Extra Fancy Onion Rings, Smacked Cucumbers to Deep Fried Babybell. There is also an Extra Fancy Happy hour every day from 12pm to 6pm offering food and drink and for any budding mixologists the bar offers cocktail masterclasses.
The bar has a focus on sustainability with its ethos revolving around a ‘Local First’ approach leading the way for a greener, more community driven business.
In May 2024, Kiki Lounge was awarded 1 PIN Excellent status in the inaugural The Pinnacle Guide listing, recognising its exceptional quality and service.
