Twice Shy is an intimate bar hidden in West London, serving up simple and elegant cocktails. It is located close to Earl’s Court station and focuses on operating as a neighbourhood cocktail bar.
It was opened in 2023 by former head mixologist at the Savoy Elon Soddu and Victor Maggiolo along with the team from sister venue Amaro Bar.
The venue spans two floors, featuring a sophisticated ground-floor bar with a five-meter black granite counter, a cozy room alongside a lounge and a laboratory in the basement, where ingredients are uniquely crafted.
It describes itself as a “hub of innovation in mixology, focusing on experimental and modern techniques.”
The Cocktail Bar Lounge Room has a blend of vintage charm and modern luxury. The space is adorned with lamps and striking red walls with a maximum capacity for 20 guests. It is an ideal location for private events and small group bookings.
Customers can be transported back in time by the collection of black and white photographs from the 1920s and 1940s that grace the walls which add a touch of nostalgia and elegance.
Available primarily on weekends, the lounge also offers the option for customers to have their own bartender to cater to private events.
Drinks are experimental with innovations including a dirty vodka martini style of drink called the Blue Cheese Distillate with olive oil dry vermouth and olive brine or the twist on a white negroni with the Honeydew & Bitter Melon served with gin, bitter melon, honeydew cordial and dry vermouth.
It is also known for its signature fresh stuffed focaccia.
